Clubs & Activities

Our Saviour offers a variety of clubs and extra-curricular activities to its students along with scheduled classes.

Our Academic Program

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Our elementary school provides a well- rounded education to children from PK-6th grades. Our classes are self-contained, allowing for the integration of the many areas of study. Students are taught religion, reading, language arts, math, social studies, science, and art by their classroom teacher. A music and physical education teacher are also on staff to help provide those aspects of the children’s education. Each classroom is equipped with computers to help students expand their technological horizons. A full-time resource room teacher is on staff to help those students who need smaller group sessions. Students of Our Saviour’s elementary school participate in New York State tests such as the ELA’s and others. Our Saviour Lutheran School has also been named an Exemplary School by the US Dept. of Education. Pre-Care and After-Care programs are also available at this level. For a small fee, children can arrive as early as 7:15 am and remain at Our Saviour until 5:45 pm. (No transportation is provided.)

JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Our Saviour is an academic junior high school, satisfying requirements for high school and eventual college admission. Students must be interested and capable of an academic program and will receive academic diplomas upon graduation. The student to faculty ratio is 18 to 1. The overall curriculum of Our Saviour fosters four-dimensional growth: academic, physical, social, and spiritual. For deeper understanding in various subject matter and for a broader educational experience, the school utilized field trips, assemblies, films, media resources, computers, and its library. The vast human and physical resources of NYC are also used.
